'The many faces of Aldwych' is part of a series 'Disused Station on the London Underground' by David Gutierrez. This is a idiosyncratic photograph in which contains immense details of the station. David Gutierrez is a London photographer which provides photography services and images for the corporate, editorial and advertising market. He Specialises in architectural photography, real estate, property, interior, urban, modern design, cityscape and night photography.
As much as I appreciate the transport London has to offer, I haven't paid a great amount of attention to the architecture that a tube station contains. Having come across Gutierrez's image it has opened my eyes to the beauty a station holds. This photograph is breathtaking, with its rich details that Gutierrez has enhanced, you can see in great detail the hard work that has gone to create this station. It might not be the prettiest station that exisit but the way Gutierrez has captured it he has made sure every little detail is recognised. Having used different greyscale effects he made sure that the grey complimented the black whilst the black was in contrast with the white. Gutierrez has made sure that the different dark shades bounce well with one another to produce an exquisite image.
Not only has David Gutierrez used a variety of shades of black white and grey he has also sharped the arch of the station capturing another piece of architecture within the reflection of the window, making that the focal point of this image. After having looked at this image I have noticed that I look at the architecture more each time I enter a station.
