This piece is a image from the series 'The art of black and white photography' by the amazing Joel Tjintjelaar. Joel Tjintjelaar is an award winning B&W fine-art photographer from the Netherlands, his distinctive eye captures the soul of inresistable architecture.
What I love about Joel Tjintjelaar is that we have the same mind frame and think alike. The reason for his black and white photographs is that he loves Black and White photography because with the removal of color the essence of objects, situations, scenarios and people can become more visible.
"It's up to you what you do with contrasts, light, shapes and lines to emphasize the essence, or what you see as the essence - no colors that will seduce the eye, only emotion that will capture the heart."- Joel Tjintjelaar
This image is a sharp and powerful image with its details being crystal clear you can see the see the essence of the photo as well as feel it. What I mean by feel it, is that it makes you feel like its an illusion and your hallucinating , am i wrong? Almost giving you that feeling that your experiencing something from the future with its grey tone coming through as a polished silver.
This is my favourite picture from Tjintjelaar because I love the soft curves of the buildings the symmetrical windows and how it makes you think about why he captured it like this? If you turn the image on the side it feels like a new image your perspectives of the image change as well as your thoughts of the picture changes, transmitting a different vibe and feeling to the image. When its turned to a 90 degree clockwise angle I feel it looks like your looking up at the building from really far down.
